Two key objectives of the Mission Conference are to create
more awareness about our involvement in mission here and
abroad and to raise financial support for those ministries.
Pledges made during the Mission Conference are viewed as
something “above and beyond” the commitment we make in
stewardship season (that means that North Avenue’s support
of our missionaries, urban outreach, and international programs
comes solely from this “above and beyond giving” through your
mission pledge). Our prayer is that in the act of pledging at
this year’s Mission Conference, we will begin to see our whole
life, purpose and very identity as grounded in and shaped by
God’s mission to the world. This year’s pledge thus offers an
opportunity to commit our money as well as our time, talents,
and very selves to further God’s mission here on earth!

As you prepare to make your pledge, please spend some time
waiting upon the Holy Spirit in prayer. Ask God to reveal to
you how he is calling you to be his witness in your spheres of
influence and to the ends of the earth. A special dedication of
your pledges will take place during each of the worship services
on Sunday, February 24. If you cannot attend one of these
services, please mail your confidential pledge to the church
business office or drop it off on a later day. God is at work in
the world. Let’s join him there as those who point to Jesus in
the power of the Holy Spirit!
