Minutes for: Communications Team Meeting from Feb 4 2008 - 4:30pm to Feb 4 2008 - 5:30pm

The communications team met on February 4, 2008.
The church welcomed Whitney Williams as the new communications coordinator beginning in January. Whitney has already taken on responsibility for newsletter publication and other routine communications tasks. Eddie and Whitney have also reviewed the editorial calendar so that Whitney has a good idea regarding upcoming events. Whitney will review and re-launch the communications guide for ministries in April.
The team discussed that there are many areas of the NAPC Web site that are extremely outdated. Whitney is requesting feedback from program coordinators and will refresh these areas in March, immediately after the mission conference.
The subject of the pictorial directory was discussed. Due to Olan Mills' publication problems, the photographs that were now taken are out-of-date in many cases. Several options were discussed; the team felt that a rapid launch of the directory on-line would be the best approach, combined with opportunities (managed in-house, not through Olan Mills) to re-take pictures, e.g., with new family additions. Whitney and Eddie will follow up on obtaining binders form Olan Mills, and pursuing in-house publication options for the directory. The team targeted an electronic version in March, and a May target for a limited print run.
The audio quality on the radio station has recently been poor. Marc will contact the station manager regarding alternatives. One of the issues is that a common sound board is used to mix sound in the sanctuary and for radio broadcast. This is not ideal.
