In the ongoing blockbuster movie series, I will focus this week on Shrek the Third. The theme of the sermon focuses on the key message of any fairy tale: “They lived happily ever after!” Is it possible in the world as we know it to find any answers to life’s deepest questions, challenges, opportunities, and mysteries? We especially look for answers that will lead us into the promise of a “happily ever after” ending. Does our faith in God lead us in such a direction? How does our answer to that question affect the way we live our lives in the here and now? And if our faith does not promise a fairly tale ending, then just what does it promise?

Shrek is rated PG, so take the whole family to the movies and then come as a family to church this Sunday and hear more about your current favorite fairy tale character—Shrek!
